Darah Lundberg

I am a Portland based ceramicist. I am originally from the midwest. I grew up in Minnesota and Wisconsin and have been living in the Pacific Northwest on and off since 1999. I am currently a Ceramics teacher at Portland Community College, Radius Studio and a parent. My work reflects the unconscious parts of exploring life for the past 45 years. I don't know where the ideas specifically come from but I know they are a reflection of the unique glasses that I look through to see the world around me. I am a curious human and I really enjoy living slightly outside my comfort zone. This is where I thrive and tend to view things just a little different than the average person. I like to break the rules and I don't particularly like being told what I can and cannot do. I think that my work reflects all of these things. My comfort zone is tight and machined and controlled. I strive to hang outside this safe space and create in my squirmy and slightly uncomfortable, awkward spot. I enjoy exploring Function and challenging the norms.
